Ag Against Hunger

Ag Against Hunger is a community-based program that organizes and partners with local growers and shippers to bring the community together, and further Ag Education and Childhood Nutrition by gleaning surplus fruits and vegetables and distributing them to our food banks locally in the Tri County area of the Central Coast. Ag Against Hunger is one of three signature programs of the Grower-Shipper Foundation whose mission is to raise community awareness of the positive impact agriculture makes in our lives.

Backyard Bounty

Backyard Bounty is a volunteer-powered gleaning program of the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County. We work with gardeners and farmers to keep fresh local produce from going to waste. Castro Valley Gleans with Forestr.org

Castro Valley Gleans is a program of Forestr.org that focuses on gleaning fresh fruit and vegetables in Castro Valley, Hayward, San Leandro, and San Lorenzo in Alameda County. The produce, which would otherwise go to waste, is donated to local shelters and pantries and distributed to people in need. We mostly work with homeowners that have too much fruit and don't know what to do with it all. We also partner with local farms and will also gladly glean orchards. Each Green Corner

Each Green Corner is a non-profit organization that seeks to bridge the gap between home & community gardeners and food distribution non-profits to increase the pipeline of fresh, healthy, and culturally-diverse produce for our non-profit partners to distribute throughout San Mateo County, California. In the process, EGC promotes awareness about food insecurity in our communities, the deep connection between food security and public health, the importance of permaculture and sustainable agriculture to environmental health, and using urban agriculture as a means to build community. For our Backyard Harvest program, we will come to your house during our designated Backyard Harvest Day (usually the 1st Saturday of the month) to harvest your backyard produce (e.g. citrus trees) for you, or you can harvest the produce yourself and we can pick it up. You do not need to be home for us to harvest. All produce will be given to Samaritan House or Second Harvest and increase food security in our community!

ProduceGood is a food recovery nonprofit operating in San Diego County. We glean daily from residential orchards, small farms, farmers markets and small grocers.
